TRANSPORTATION:

YOUTH PROGRAMS
The Whale Camp provides round-trip transportation from Bangor International Airport in Maine. Most major airports along the east coast have direct service to Bangor International. Flights from Philadelphia, Washington or New York typically take two and a half to three hours. The Whale Camp urges you to use our professional travel agent, Sheila Weinstein of Travel Experts to arrange your airline service to Bangor. Sheila has many years of experience and has arranged for special rates from US Air and American Airlines for Whale Camp families who book through her agency. In addition, she will coordinate flights where possible to allow children of your area to fly together. Sheila can also be very valuable by relieving you of headaches if the flight schedule changes at the last minute (as has happened on occasion). However, if you decide to make your own airline plans, have your child's flight arrive after 12:30 pm on the day prior to the first day of camp and leave after 12:30 pm on the last day the camp is in session. Sheila can be reached by phone at 610-642-3300, ext. 15; by FAX at 610-642-3010; by email at slwein@travelxperts.com.

Whale Camp staff members will be at the Bangor International Airport, in the afternoon on the day prior to the first day of each camp session, to meet all campers arriving by plane. If arriving by plane, we require that campers arrive the day before the camp begins since we leave Bangor at 6:30 AM the day the camp begins. Campers will stay at an inn in Bangor, Maine with our counselors that evening (there is no additional fee for the room and transportation; campers will need to provide for own meals.) If arriving by car with parents, we request that you meet us at the inn no later than 6:30 AM on the day that your camp session begins. Another option for parents who drive is to meet our staff at Bangor Airport or our hotel the day before your camp session begins and have our staff take responsibility for your child at that time (additional fee of $62.00 for the room; campers must provide for meals.) Bangor, Maine is easily reached from Interstate 95. The airport is reached by taking exit 46 from Interstate 95.
